Mad Men, episode 407: The Suitcase
Jon Hamm is so transformative! He’s such a kind faced, robust handsome healthy man, but this season as Don he looks every bit the seasoned alcoholic - angry, red faced, bloated, malnourished, perspiring, lost & profoundly tired. It’s painful to watch this character, this strong, proud, confident man, so fully spiral & it’s nothing short of awe inspiring to see the same happy fella who did the hippity hop at the Emmys also be this man.

Favourite Tim Burton movie?
My favourite directing is Sweeney Todd, Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow & Edward Scissorhands. Seriously, four-way tie. My favourite writing is Edward Scissorhands. This was the hardest question I’ve ever asked myself!

I tried maintaining a more personal Tumblr that featured more words last winter, but it didn’t take. I prefer to share my words here because my audience is larger, but I censor myself more here because my audience is larger. I do make an effort to share a personal little anecdote from time to time. Anecdotal writing is probably my favourite sort & I really enjoy making my daily life sound like a frisky adventure.
I also adore sharing nostalgic memories or reactionary descriptions about the pictures I post. If I didn’t edit myself, I would add a story or a string of lusty adjectives to nearly every photo, but I think it’s important sometimes to simply present images for readers to enjoy & interpret without inundating y’all with my ardent reactions. I try to make it a happy mix.

This absolutely wonderous video, directed by David Fincher & starring the kittenish Betsy Lynn George kept me well occupied during solitary moments when I was young, boy did it ever! I feel like I should write a thank you letter to Billy Idol for providing such delights to occupy my teenage mind.
