With rumours going around for a female version of The Expendables, I wanted to share my dream cast. I checked the ages of all the men in The Expendables & The Expendables 2 & they’re all between the ages of 45-65 (except Liam Hemsworth). Lucy Lawless in Spartacus: Vengeance
This woman/show is going to be my life for the next couple months! Prepare yourselves!
I was very pleased with the premiere of Spartacus: Vengeance. It was as beautifully bloody as the previous two seasons & I think the set-up for this season is fantastic. I’m so happy to have it back in my life. It brings me such bliss.
Liam McIntyre is an impressive Spartacus. He has Whitfield’s fierce focus & soulful eyes & he has great chemistry with both Manu Bennett’s Crixus & Katrina Law’s Mira; which is important. The most disconcerting thing about Liam is that he’s a giant! Andy was so slight & they really used that on the show - the tiny little warrior man. McIntyre is bigger than everyone! Even Crixy! He’s done a great job already of continuing the spirit of the character Whitfield helped shape while also encompassing it & bringing his own magic to Spartacus. I’m excited to see him interact with both Ilithyia & Gannicus too. Especially Ilithyia!
What I missed the most from the episode was John Hannah’s Batiatus. Getting to know him so well in the prequel made me love him not just as a villain, but a character. Hannah also did the best job with Spartacus’ beautiful language. He was to Spartacus what Ian McShane’s Al Swearengen was to Deadwood.
Still! Blood! Sex! Ilithyia watching Lucretia have a bath! And a lot of excitement, filth & emotion to come. Gosh but I love this show!
